Requirements for Use:
To use any center you must have a Cheatham County wheel tax sticker on your vehicle or have proof that you own property in the county usually in the form of a property tax statement.
Loads must be secured in a way such that nothing will blow or fall out of your vehicle causing a litter or safety problem.
No site will accept any liquid other than used motor oil (excepting latex paints at the landfill), brush,explosives or hazardous materials. We are not allowed to by state law. Any questionable material can be cleared up with a phone call to 792-7538.
Information:
Once a year, usually in the spring, the State of TN schedules a Household Hazardous Waste Pickup Day for the county where citizens can bring in old household cleaners, antifreeze, enamel paint, pesticides, etc.
All centers are closed on Wednesdays.

The tipping fee at the landfill is $35/ton or a little less than 2 cents a pound (1.75 cents to be exact).
The landfill accepts such things as furniture, appliances of any size, construction debris, tires, carpet, dead animals, bicycles, latex paint, boats, gas tanks, mattresses and scrap metals in addition to household garbage and the recyclables mentioned for the other centers above.
